I don't think there are any battles that every Wargamer should know – it totally depends on the periods you game and your interests. |

I'm ambiguous. You can't know everything, but you have to know more than your specialty to choose a specialty intelligently.My gut feeling is that five are too few. You need to have read about maybe 50 to be able to say "this is how they made war in the 16th Century/the Hellenistic World/the colonial period and it does/does not interest me." Otherwise, you're pretty much picking at random. |

While it certainly depends on the period there are just a few battles that everyone should know about – gamer or not |
