Still in round 1A, which appears to be alphabetical by first name, and ends with the start of the "E" section. So Snoopy will obviously appear in round 3 at the earliest.

I cast a vote for Warman after reading a bit about him on The Aerodrome. Gotta like a guy that throws his gun mallet at the enemy and then attacks them with his flare gun after he can't unjam his MG.

Nungesser beats Warman — ran to the kitchen to grab a chef's knife before taking off to attack a Zeppelin heading towards Paris!

HIs observer was not to happy with any equation that involved his pilot, a Zeppelin, and a kitchen knife.

Best to give him a plane of his own after that then, so as not to frighten any crewmates to death.

Lord Flasheart. Obviously.

Just delighted to see the often overlooked David Endicott Putnam on the list.

I have a soft spot for the local pilots who flew for France before the U.S. Entered the war. A great favorite of mine and a local pilot where I live. Tracked down his birthplace and his memorial plaque at Harvard. When a friend visited the Lafayette Flying Corp memorial outside Paris I had them place flowers at his grave and also Frank Leaman Baylies.I

As an aside when my daughter taught in China see was informed there was a memorial to the Flying Tigers near the city see taught at. When she visited it she told me it was beautifully maintained with fresh flowers placed there daily by the local people.

Good to see Bart Bandy (great series by Donald Jack) in the list; now waiting for Biggles to appear grin
