I paint to please myself. It is a hobby to me & I won't stress out on how I paint.

Sadly, it is not possible to say both "I am happy with my painted miniatures" and "I wish I could paint better." "Happy" is not the same as "content."

(Hmm. I also wish I could paint faster, which for me is not the same as thinking they take too long to paint. The poll answer seems to blame the miniature, which is only true some of the time.)

Better than I use to, but not into shading, but would hope anyone would easily know what the unit is.

Better and faster should be a choice.

As with others here, the results are acceptable, but there is always room for improvement.

I read an old Dragon Magazine article, years ago, on 'assembly-line painting' techniques, as well as, 'Works In Progress', painting (paint what you want, when you want, but still push yourself to finish projects, when necessary, or near the finish line, to get them done…). I liked his ideas. I adopted them, using The Dip and Magic Wash techniques, as well. I average 10 minutes of painting, and shading, combined, per figure -- only 10 minutes of brush time, to completely paint a 25mm miniature. My figures look comparable to what I initially paid a professional to paint them like (wargaming standard). Even he, who had by then painted 10,000 miniatures, was impressed with what I achieved, in so little time.

I am an army painter. I like my painting. And I really like how many armies I have finished painting, thus far in my hobby. I have many more to paint, many terrain pieces to build, and finish. But I also have many more games to play, time before my death permitting. I passed the half-century mark, several years ago -- I am not getting any younger, nor am I getting any healthier. My clock is winding down, but until it stops, I will game on! Cheers!
