Although no opinion from me here, haven't studied them much, yet would enjoy learning others viewpoints on this.

Sword has the challenge of linking up with the airborne forces, and facing an armoured counter attack. Plus some fighting against fortified areas slightly inland, as well as the actual beach landing.

Sword had a more interesting mix of invading forces (including special services brigades and hobart funnies), and experienced an armored counter-attack. Several in fact.

Also, and this may just be my mental own "worry", but Sword had an exposed flank with no friendlies there. Gold was tucked in the middle of the landing, with friendlies on both sides. Makes Sword seem more isolated.

Sword also has the possibility of activating Band Beach if things aren't going well. Mark Felton has a good video on this.
