Some of the choices are getting a bit political.

Wasn't this done a couple of months ago? Benedict Arnold wasn't a traitor, he mistakenly followed some traitors then returned to his original allegence to his lawful government. Fuse lit, stands back and waits for the explosion.

Can you beat Judas Iscariot?

Some of the choices are getting a bit political.

It was a troll (pre) poll discussion to begin with. There were some great points made (mostly by one poster), but there was a lot of the usual suspects grinding the usual axes.

I suggest adding Yazid I. That would be political for certain values of political.

I could suggest Oliver Cromwell, but really it would be Eadric Streona for me, "he surpassed all his contemporaries in malice and perfidy, as well as in pride and cruelty."

Actually Benedict Arnold was a double traitor. He turned on England, then on the United States.

And imagine…

He was a GREAT Brit also!!!

I thought two negatives made a positive …
