Can't actually see what the question is here – so I voted for my favourite film on the list that had weird armour (my favourite would be A Knight's Tale but given the pitch of the film I don't see much wrong with the armour so voted for Excaliber … beautiful armour but from the art department not the historical advisors … ) Phil |

All the armor types they came up with in the LotR and Hobbit movies don't even rate a mention? |

I don't see an actual question here either. So voted no opinion due to my confusion. |

Excalibur – ein film von John Boorman. |

Agree – given the criteria, I would say Excalibur is a hands-on win |

Beowulf and Grendel. Nobody wears chainmail anymore so why not vote them for being re-original. That and…what is the question again? |

I had my mouse hovering on excaliber, then I saw ZardoZ in the list (He speaks to me) |

Loved Excalibur and wanted to vote for it – but Zardoz is Zardoz! |

There's only really the masks in Zardoz (Ein film von John Boorman) – otherwise I'd vote for it.

Helen Mirren's armour in Excalibur was very nice :) |

Yes it was. She still looks really good and she is only a few years older than me. |

I don't see an actual question here either. So voted no opinion due to my confusion. A lot of folks didn't understand the question, but that didn't stop them from nominating/voting for Zardoz, anyway. Excalubur for the win! And remember, boys and girls, when the time is right, always use protection- and a 4+ save is as good as it gets! Unless you are carrying as shield, and are on a barded warhorse…but I'm not even sure how that would work. Nevermind. |

I freely confess that I don't understand John Boorman. He has directed Excalibur – to my mind, the finest film version of Arthurian legend to date. On the other hand, he also directed Zardoz, destined to be the Rick Astley of the cinematic world. At any rate, my vote goes to Excalibur; the armour is beautiful, is more or less functional, and is attuned to the various moods of the film. Thanks to Bill for using my poll suggestion. Ron |

no mention of 'joan of arc' (the Milla Jovovich version) or 'holy grail' or '300'??? |

Zardoz, destined to be the Rick Astley of the cinematic world I truly like Zardoz, and find it a fascinating critique of aspects of society. I like Excalibur as well, for very different reasons – it's just so damn clever. And Nicol Williamson is Merlin – no other representation comes close to what he achieved in Excalibur. A dream to some….. |

I went with LadyHawke for functionality. Excalibur is the most beautiful. Zardoz does not cover MORE than one swimsuit;^)) |

LadyHawke and Excalibur both have beautiful and functional armor, but the best *fantasy* armour designs must be Brian Froud's in Labyrinth. Those armoured goblins are an absolute treat to watch. |
