If someone else did the organizing I would play with a degree of enthusiasm but not enough to be the organizer. Say 4 in the table.

Nada, nope, zilch – settled for 1.

As in "You paint all the figures and set up the game, I will play. "

You can paint a thousand figures for this and I still will not play. I like to game history not current events.

I don't really enjoy Moderns. So…1 for me.

Somehow modern jets are okay for me but land warfare not so much. Not sure why, more falsely antiseptic imagery perhaps?

Cold War is about the most "modern" I collect armies (well actually strictly air combat forces except for Air to Mud scenarios) for so I guess I like my "distance" from current events (too much like real life at work.)

I'm somewhat interested in doing this but not enough to have bought any figures yet. Probably it would require another party to be interested enough to buy figures and paint them themselves for me to paint the other side.

I'm super interested, though my interest lies more in alternative history-type conflict, and back in the 80s or 90s, not now. I actually just started a campaign following my French Foreign Legion troops to various hotspots around the world, and their first stop is Estonia where they are assisting the liberal, Western-leaning government put down a rebellion led by a former Soviet military officer.

I also have a boatload of NATO and Warsaw Pact stuff in 6mm that I'm trying to figure out an alternate history to get on the table in the form of former Soviet republics going at it with other former Soviet republics. Or something along those lines ;)

V/R,
Jack

While I would not paint up any minis for this period, if someone had the armies/terrain/rules I would play it – so I put myself down as a 3

I played some modern games back in the 1980's. Vehicle stats in some cases were just guesses (e.g., the "XM-1" specs in TacForce) and you'd periodically see a supplement based on the latest information or updated guesses.

I see it as a more modern version of Back of Beyond.
