My "problem" when I proposed this FOUR YEARS AGO, was with my own sales being pushed off the front page by ….. whatever.
As zippyfusenet pointed out FOUR YEARS AGO the "offending" person apologized and stopped.

Why bring this scab up to pick at AFTER FOUR YEARS.
I voted " other" because it embarrassed me to be the sponsor of this. As will the OFM.

I thought it took Bill seven years to bring up poll suggestions? This one needs to be put to bed for another 3 years. And yes, this has been addressed and taken care of.

I attempt to limit myself to no more that two entries a day during selling season.

I voted "This is ridiculous" because it's about the state of the Marketplace back in 2014.

Lots of people voting for it… grin

The marketplace is what it is. Now, if someone would like to penalize everyone who pops up on the message boards in season and out, answering every question about suitable rules for this or that situation by saying "MY rules! MINE! The ones I'm selling RIGHT HERE! will solve all your troubles." I'd be very interested in that.

Guys, if your rules are really that good, your customers will recommend them--and with a lot more credibility.

I've always wondered how many TMP'ers ever look at the listings once they fall off the main page. Probably not that many.

So yes, there should be a limit (even if its an honorary one).

Remove all the market boards and just have one "MARKET" board to post on. Limit one post daily.

I think it's only a problem if a person does it consistently. A person who posts 40 items 30 days in a row is different than a person who posts 40 items on one day twice a year.

So let me get this straight, this was suggested four years ago. Four years ago! If this was a real issue the membership would have been clambering for it. No one thought this was important enough to have posted it, in the last four years. There needs to be a limit on how long a poll suggestion can sit around before it is posted.

Fifty out of 125 is not a lot of people.

"….Remove all the market boards and just have one "MARKET" board to post on. Limit one post daily….."

This would be the best option.

Failing that a limit of 1 ad per category should be applied.

Also remove the "paying members only" limitation and allow all prospective buyers to message sellers without having to publicly show their email addresses in order to make contact.
