I currently have what could be charitably considered a cellar. It is uncertain whether there is concrete on the floor. I have standing water around 4 months out of the year. Previous houses had good basement gaming areas.

Tried it for awhile when we moved in. The dining room and parlour proved to be much better gaming space.

You must be under 6'tall to stand in my basement.

The new house does not have a basement. The old place did by I did have that low ceiling issue too. So it was for gaming storage.

Though basements are rarity where I live, I have one as my gaming space. So far, not good.

I look forward to a time when I again live in a house with a basement so I don't have to take away a room from other activities just to paint and play games and store all the materiel.

I keep wine and junk in the cellar.

My answer is no and I don't have a basement. Just because you don't have a basement doesn't necessarily mean you haven't played in someone else's basement.

Yep – best gaming space in the house

High ceiling, concrete floor, insulated but unfinished- so I can put up as many tables as I want

Yes, a split level ranch. To finished the basement into almost a separate apartment should the kids return (which they have not). Very pleasant area to game in.

I have gamed in my basement, my dad's basement, many friend's houses basements and even (especially) in Wally Simon's basement.

Syrinx027 Sep 2017 6:27 p.m. PST

I have been gaming in my friends basement for 39 years. When it was his dad's house we only had part of the finished basement. Now the gaming area is the basement.
