it is figure size/scale independent Are there rules that are figure size/scale dependent? Is the idea here just that they can be used across a variety of figure scales and basing styles with 'minimal adaptation'? Phil |

Is the idea here just that they can be used across a variety of figure scales and basing styles with 'minimal adaptation'? I assume that is the idea. Some rules state that they are designed for specific scales and don't provide details of how to use them with other sizes of figure. Presumably that makes them 'size/scale dependent', although it's really not that hard to adapt most rules to suit other sizes and scales. |

There are some rule sets that specify scale, nowadays much less so than before To me, being fun and easy to play trumps just about anything else |

Successful? Commercially or personally? Personally, I'm more into generic rules sets these days. Genre specific is fine but ones that allow me to use broad range of appropriate figs without being fiddly or require loads of bookkeeping. No need to reinvent the wheel or introduce a different mechanic for difference's sake. Something simple but not simplistic so we can enjoy the game and not argue over the rules. |
