Isn't this just a rewording of this poll? TMP link |

I don't suspect the dice. I suspect the designer. |

I'd be curious as to *why* a game needs an odd dice combo, sure. But if the rules supported it, that's fine. |

Oh come on, dice are just tools like rulers, tape measures, and other such items. What's to be suspicious about? Gracias, Glenn |

Isn't this just a rewording of this poll? Maybe – if you consider the d10 to be a classic D&D polyhedral. |

Which it is. As I recall, D20s were numbered 1-10 twice before they were numbered 1 to 20. We used to use a "control die" – an d6 rolled with the d10 to determine whether the number rolled was 1-10 (d6 = 1-3) or 11-20 (d6 = 4-6). I still like rolling a "D20" that way. |

I like the term "exotic dice"! You know, the kind enumerated by naked women or sexual positions. "Look, I rolled two women in missionary!" Reply by my opponent: "Yes, but my saving throw has got five naked gamers which means your two naked ladies run!" |

As long as the type of dice fit into a larger framework, I don't care. Like Norscaman, I am intrigued by the term "exotic dice." |

I knew a guy who showed up with some six-sided dice he had made. He assured us that he had "tested" them and that they rolled true. Of course merely looking at them suggested something else. Eventually we told him he could no longer use them. |

I'll admit I don't really understand this question. But for me regular six-sided dice, a deck of cards, and a coin to flip is more than sufficient for any game mechanic. So I suppose I'm "suspicious" of anything else. |

I would say that any die that were comercially bought are OK. I get suspecious of anyone that uses "lucky" dice or won't let anyone else use the same die. In our group we kind of have an unwritten rule to use different die for each roll. "Roll well and live," everyone |

I once found and bought a pair of d6 that were shaped like six sided columns with the numbers on the sides. They worked fine even if it did cause my buddy to look askance at first. He even took to rolling them every now and then. Since then I have seen something similar with my sons' megaman miniatures battle game, although they are smaller. |
