Pork pies are a brilliant savoury snack. Especially if you are out hiking or something, just chuck a pack into your rucksack and eat them on the go! But what kind of monster would eat them warm? The jelly bit would melt and go all 'orrible…. |

Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs, Branston Pickle, and add some Cheese and Cole Slaw, some beer, and a few drams of whiskey and you've got a proper picnic there. |

They look interesting but I'll stick to my favorite: Cheerios, Coffee-Milk and Graham Crackers. The (other) breakfast of champions. |

After Cerdic's comment I had to look it up to be sure. It is very similar to a pot pie here in the US. The pork pie has pork and a little pork fat. The pot pie has beef or chicken stew. I stand by my choice. It would be delicious warm. |

Some English guys run a company here called Pacdon Pork and attend our local farmers market every few weeks. Amongst other English-style smallgoods, they do a decent pork pie (although not quite as good as a couple that I've had in England). They have to be esten cold! But don't try to eat an Aussie mest pie cold. |

Had a pork pie sarnie (Sandwich) at the office the other day, hot English Mustard. YUM! First reaction from colleagues was Yeuch!, now it is known as the breakfast of Champions. Introduced the missus to a warm pork pie, 450 gram (1 lb) "individual" size. 20 mins at 160C / 320F served with Butter beans, tomatoes and sliced Padron peppers. it is also good with Mushy or processed peas, either out of a tin o soaked and cooked from dried. Don't knock it unless you have tried it Getting hungry just thinking about it! |
