Interesting concept, must try this. |

I paint 6mm the same way I paint everything else (and, yes, that includes washes and glazes … I don't actually dip any figures but, where appropriate, do use tinted varnishes applied by brush) Phil |

I have not painted any 6mm figures since dips have been available. I do intend to try it when/if I next paint 6mm figures. x42 |

Phil's got it right. Washes bring out the best in our little friends. Lloyd |

I wash 6mm stuff too, it works really well. |

I block paint mine over black primer. The black shadows on the seams are good enough. I can hardly see the little guys anyway. |

I thought they came out way too dark. |

Bright colors make 6mm look good, the dip makes them too dark. |

Again, I wash, not dip. Dipping is needlessly messy, and IMO the time saved is negligable. Again, IMO, a future/ink wash works better on 6mm than any other scale. Red uniforms look particularly good with a black/brown wash. |

Bright colors make 6mm look good, the dip makes them too dark. It's all about the mix! |
