Chocolate Chip/Toll House Chocolate Chip/Nabisco Oreo were bunched up as close seconds. I am hungry now… |

Ohhh- tough choice I still think Walker's Shortbread is a kind of Scotch Shortbread Which I am going for although I do love Toll House cookies and Oreos ever so much |

Cookies, they are cookies, Biscuits are what you put sausage gravy on. |

Nope – they are biscuits. And the King of all biscuits is also paradoxically the most humble of the kindred. I speak of none other than The Digestive (All hail the digestive ! The King of all biscuits! Humblest of his kin!). A good quality one though – McVities or Sainsbury's Organic – something of that ilk. I have enjoyed all kinds of fancy biscuits, but the solid pleasure of The Digestive (All hail the digestive ! The King of all biscuits! Humblest of his kin!) always wins out. IMHPO |

I prefer powdermilk biscuits. Heavens, they're tasty and expeditious. |

While Red Banner is correct, I still voted for the Walker's. Since Jammy Dodgers inexplicably failed to make the cut. |

I would gladly scarf down a bag of any of the list really. But my absolute favourite is oatmeal chocolate chip. |

Famous Amos Chocolate Chip are probably the best store bought chocolate chip out there. Nothing else I've ever had comes close. They still aren't a patch on bakery or homemade ones, of course. |

This poll is flawed, since there shouldn't be two entries for the same type of "cookie". Sadly, no real "biscuits" were listed as options for the poll. |
Cerdic | 20 May 2015 12:47 p.m. PST |
Walkers Shortbread is just a brand of 'Scotch' shortbread, as far as I am aware. Doesn't really need a separate option on the poll? Anyway. This debate over what these things are called. We all know that Americans call them cookies and Brits call them biscuits. Doesn't matter what YOU call them, this is the foodstuff we are voting on! If I wanted to be pedantic, the word biscuit is of French and Latin origin and means 'twice baked'. This would seem to be a more accurate description of a cookie/biscuit than of the scone-like bread thing that is known as a biscuit in the US! Maybe we need a board for discussing English language idiom and dialect around the world….. |

Most of these are cookies. |

Is a fig newton like a fig roll ?
They're really nice – but they are barely a biscuit. |
Ron W DuBray | 20 May 2015 5:23 p.m. PST |
home made any kind 100s of times better then anything you can buy in a store. |
Kevin in Albuquerque | 20 May 2015 7:20 p.m. PST |
Ron's right … home-made is the best, for either biscuits or cookies! |

McVities Chocolate Digestives. My wife and I argues over milk or dark. |
