The battles of the Near East (as it was called then) make pretty good wargames. They are relatively small and feature a variety of troop types. The exception would be Gallipoli. I have walked those battlefields and I recall saying to my self multiple times: "What WERE they thinking?" |

I prefer the Eastern Front – Galcia,Poland but especially the Thessoloniki or Bulgarian/Romanian front. More open less trenches. |

East Africa, good small engagements, and that one silly coastal attack |

I agree with Chris. If I gamed WW1 land battles (which I do not), then I'd choose to do the campaigns in east Africa. Jim |

Early war, before the trenches. |

Some significant omissions here, incl the entire Eastern Front. |

Other – Falklands 1914 :) But if it had to be land then it would be the East African campaign as a whole (which has plenty of RN input too) |

I love how 15 people took the time to open, read, and respond to a poll with "Not my genre". In other words, "I have no opinion but wanted to push a button." God bless the internet. |

Only thing that really gets my fancy in WWI is the airwar. But guess thats just really a small portion of a battle. |
