The same!

Different!

Something else!

It's very hard to objectively quantify these trends, and subjective, anecdotal opinion is nearly useless as an analysis tool.

Life has gotten in the way of
some of the gaming, as a few
of the guys took out a little time to
raise the kids.

Hard for me to say as I have been in 3 different parts of the country in 12 months. I will say as far as new releases and companies in the hobby it has slowed down a bit. As far as clubs I think it is steady, Yahoo groups seem to be less active but I think that is due to yahoo format changes then anything else. I will say this as well. Moving Historicon at this time is good for the hobby.

Hard to generalise – I went for slower, but that's my experience, and part of the reason is I'm doing more non-gaming stuff at the moment so by default I get out of the loop a bit. These things go in cycles – it'll be more gaming again soon I expect.

I think a little slow. There are not too many fresh ideas out there. Perhaps we are waiting for the "next big idea" to hit the shelves? We are due!

I hate any and all discussions about "the state of the hobby".
Frankly, I don't care what anybody else is doing, except where it relates to me and my enjoyment. It's all about ME.

In my basement things are definitely slower. Everyone's lives have spun off in different directions and we just don't game as much as we used to. I look back on 2007 and 2008 as a Golden time now.

Now I'm hoping to organize something maybe once a month…

But in a wider sense I think things are fine. Lots of guys out there gaming. Hotlead is totally on fire with a pile of good games lined up.

Well, James, I have the good fortune of more activity in my basement – in general, in our area, there are more young guys interested, so things are looking up

See? it all evens out on a cosmic scale. so I voted "pretty much the same"

I live in hope that things will improve in my basement o'gaming over the next year.

I'm admiring the very normal looking distribution curve on this poll so far.

Our club is pretty healthy with 25 to 35 players showing up evey week, there seems to be a lot on line, and theres plenty of new minaures about. So the hobby looks pretty good to me so far this year, but things will realy tell in the wargames shows. I think this will be a very good year for plastic 28mm.
