It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

I don't really know. It might have been a Scruby goblin. I don't have them anymore and I don't really remember for sure.

I have a number of Grenadier D & D figures I did back in college. I'm sure one of them was my first. And it is AWFUL. 8)=

It was the Grenadier model that Mirliton lists as Skeleton Emperor on Palanquin. If memory serves, I had to buy two blister packs to complete the figure, which I didn't realize on the first trip so I had to wait a week to buy the second half!

One of the minis from the Grenadier "Action Art" "Adventurers" or "Monsters" boxed sets. I got both at the same time, couldn't tell you which I first turned into a timeless masterpiece.

I am thinking it was the dark elf 'drider', which is one of two lost ages ago. Most of the others I repainted more than once, several quite recently.

This really should have been a "top five" poll.

It was an Airfix 1/72 figure – either 8th Army or a Roman. I know they were the first two 'armies' I painted but the earliest wargame models were scratch built ships.

I still have some of the balsa ships but the Airfix figures collapsed into brittle dust years ago.

Also Airfix, though in those days only generic "British" and "German" Army figures were available.

I bought a box of each the same day (1964?), and painted all 96 figures in around 4 hours using what Testors enamel paints I had from abortive attempts to paint plastic ship/aircraft models.

The Gerries were the worst--Kelly Green uniforms, and black helmets. Eventually I stripped them and used a more nearly accurate shade, but "Feldgrau" wasn't even available then from Testors, or at least never at my local hobby shop!

Oh yeah, lonnngggg gone….with my youth and my eyesight!

I think it was probably a fantasy barbarian… but I'm not sure!

It would have been a 1/72 Airfix, but I have no idea which one. I can't even remember at what age I started putting paint onto the figures I played with!

My son has it.

Imp war party – that is three winged monkeys – by Ral Partha.

I still have two of them, still with the golden enamel fur I painted them in -79.

I had painted quite a few model airplanes and other models, but those were the first I painted for gaming.

14Bore28 Apr 2016 2:10 p.m. PST

Hard to say exactly which one but it has to be one of my 28mm Ral Partha figures for D&D. I have every figure I've ever bought.

Airfix … Really awful painting but I was very young. Kept for nostalgia. I also have the first figures prepped specifically for wargaming – again Airfix – and although very simply done, they can still be used.

It was a 54mm Lakota ghost dancer, still sitting up on the shelf.

Something from the Grenadier fantasy line back in the early 80's. The friend I gamed with was moving to Utah. I had just discovered girls, and felt miniature gaming was silly, so sent all the mini's we had collected with him.

Grenadier mini from the Halflings box set. Still have it. Painted it with Testor's enamel model paints and a Q-tip.

Still have them and they are horrible. Still in a box of random stuff from my childhood. Now where that box is now is a good question.

Old style Mimifigs pre-PB Republican Roman Hastati.
I thought they looked ok. Others were … polite.

Painted Airfix French Napoleonics – I gave them to my nephew many years ago

Mike Target29 Apr 2016 10:16 a.m. PST

Showing my age here- a Pair of Bretonnian Knights and 8 Archers. Definitely still got the archers, though no longer in their original paint. Possibly still have one of the knights….

14Bore30 Apr 2016 1:33 p.m. PST

One thing to add my original D&D figures were painted with what I was use to Testor's enamels, 1980 all still there.

legatushedlius01 May 2016 5:46 a.m. PST

Hinchliffe French Imperial Guard. Painted when I was ten in 1970. I still have them…somewhere. I started with metals and didn't come to Airfix plastics until a year or two later. Then I didn't paint any metals between 1975 and 1998!
