How about a show with the current Kirk actor showing the first years of his captaincy of the Enterprise? That's what I want to see. Also, just bring back Lower Decks.

POLL DESCRIPTION
As of March 2026, the Star Trek landscape is indeed at a major crossroads. Strange New Worlds has officially wrapped filming on its 5th and final season (expected in 2027), and Starfleet Academy has just finished production on its second season. With no new shows currently green-lit, here are 15 ideas for where the franchise could go next, ranging from fan-favorite requests to bold new concepts:

Poll set up by Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian, based on this pre-poll discussion.

Star Trek: Legacy
The most requested spin-off. Set in the early 25th century, it follows Captain Seven of Nine commanding the USS Enterprise-G, with Jack Crusher as "Special Counselor" and Sidney La Forge at the helm.
Star Trek: Stargazer
A prequel series following a young Jean-Luc Picard during his first command. It would explore the "Wild West" era of the late 23rd/early 24th century before the polished TNG era.
The Romulan Reconstruction
Set after the events of Star Trek: Picard and the destruction of Romulus. A political thriller focusing on the struggle to reunite the Romulan people and their integration into the Federation.
Star Trek: First Contact
An anthology series where each episode (or mini-arc) focuses on a different "First Contact" mission. Some go perfectly; some go disastrously wrong.
Star Trek: Department of Temporal Investigations
A procedural "Time Police" show. Officers Lucly and Dulmur (from DS9) or new agents travel to different eras to fix timeline incursions, allowing the show to revisit any period in Trek history.
The Great Experiment
A series set on the USS Excelsior under Captain Sulu. It bridges the gap between the Original Series movies and the Next Generation era, showing how the Federation shifted from a military footing to one of pure science.
Star Trek: Underworld
A gritty, Andor-style look at the Orion Syndicate and the Fenris Rangers. It would explore the corners of the galaxy where the Federation's light doesn't reach.
The Borg Origin
A psychological horror miniseries. Instead of a tech-heavy action show, it tracks the very first species to succumb to the collective and how a utopian society slowly loses its individuality.
Star Trek: Ambassador
A "West Wing in Space" political drama. No starships, no phaser fights – just Sarek or a similar diplomat navigating the high-stakes treaties that built the Khitomer Accords.
The Lost Era
A series set in the "Golden Age" of the mid-24th century (between The Undiscovered Country and TNG). This would feature the Enterprise-C or a contemporary ship during the height of the Cardassian wars.
Star Trek: Frontier
Set 500 years after the 32nd-century events of Discovery. The Federation has expanded to a new galaxy via advanced transwarp conduits, encountering truly "alien" life that doesn't follow humanoid biological rules.
Star Trek: Titan
A workplace comedy or "lower decks" style live-action show set on a massive Federation hub or starbase, focusing on the civilian families and support staff that keep the fleet running.
Star Trek: Short Treks 2.0
A return to the high-budget experimental shorts, used specifically to "pilot" some of the riskier ideas above before committing to a full season.
The Klingon Empire
A Shakespearean-style drama performed entirely (or mostly) in Klingon (with subtitles). It focuses on the internal feuds of the Great Houses during the reign of Chancellor Martok.
Star Trek: Infinite
A "What If…?" animated series exploring alternate timelines, such as "What if the Borg won at Wolf 359?" or "What if Spock never joined Starfleet?"
