Nimitz and Halsey won. Well that tells you something about propaganda and the state of history education in the schools. Nimitz should not have been on the list. Nimitz did not command a carrier or a carrier group and Halsey may have been one of the worst carrier admirals in history.

Halsey should have been either court marshalled, relieved of his command or promoted to Nimitz's staff out of harms way. Raymond Spruance is the obvious choice. All these years later and still no love for the hero of Midway.
