It's in there because nobody expected the British to have a hard fight, and what the British won ultimately was strategically useless for themó and they had more than twice as many casualties as the Americans (including much of General Howe's officer corps). Of the battle, British General Clinton recorded that "A few more such victories would have shortly put an end to British dominion in America."

Sometimes a loss is as good as a win.
