Would not a link to a news site be a current event?

Could be archeology, for example.

POLL DESCRIPTION
I have received some complaints from members who click on links in the forums, only to find themselves at news websites which they object to.

Currently, long URLs appear on the forum as the word 'link' which is clickable. This is done because a long URL can make a topic too wide to be readable.

In a few cases, we have added more explanation. For example, a link that goes somewhere else on TMP says 'TMP link'. And a link to YouTube says 'YouTube link'.

We could, on a case by case basis, add descriptives for certain news websites. So, for example, it could say 'New York Times link' or 'Fox News link'.

Or, for all links, we could parse out the domain name. So, for instance, it could say 'nytimes.com link'.

Or we could leave things the way they are.
