It depends on the game, but not because the rules call for it. More for easy/asthetics. An example of for easy. For TSaF, it uses lots of d20,s and instead of always grabbing dice from various sets, I just bought 40 d20's and keep them with my TSaF stuff. An example of asthetics. Take Ambush Alley, I bought dice that match color and dice sides. So I bought some d6 that are green, the d8 are red, the d10 are blue. The color recognition helps with using appropriate dice type.

Thanks Chris

So if you're about to start a new ruleset/period/army/etc., do you get yourself a new set of dice to go along with it?

For example, I just ordered the Dawn: Rise of the Occulites game, and then my O.C.D. kicked in. Next thing I knew, I was buying five new sets of D10s to color-match the five tribes of minis.

Do you find yourself doing similar when getting into something new?
