It looks like some people are confusing constructive criticism with positive comments only. Now, I do believe that if you can't say something nice, saying nothing is often a good policy, but if somebody has actively invited criticism, saying nothing is not what's called for. In that circumstance, and finding some negatives, it is important (in my opinion) to criticise constructively. Which means, don't just say something is dross (in your opinion); say why it is dross, or which parts of it are dross, and what you think could have been done to make it better.

I think the main problem on TMP is that people are just not honest with their criticism enough of the time. Someone posts beautifully painted minis and everyone says bravo. Then someone else posts some awfully painted minis and we still say bravo.

Now I know we all just want to be constructive in our criticisms and don't want to oppress or put people off, but applying superlatives to dross is no more constructive than polishing feces.

Do you agree?
