I have been painting minis off and on for roughly 25 years and my skills have barely improved. In fact, I decidedly consider myself a "wargamer" and not a mini painter. It is a necessary evil I must endure in order to play games.

In fact, I detest painting so much that in the mid-late 90s when my overtime at work was plentiful, I would pay for all of my minis to come painted! (Ah the good old days!)

I've not given up on learning to be a "painter" though, and am still trying to improve my techniques. I'm just venturing into washes and shading (yes, after 20+ years).

My question is, what's the best way for new (or old) painters to quickly improve their techniques? I know i will never be a "painter" who shows off my minis at TMP, but I would at least like to get them to a standard where I'm not embarrassed to show them here. So, what say you?
