The Americanization of Emily is a really sharp, black comedy take on the Normandy landings -- it's an overlooked classic, came out the same year as Dr. Strangelove and is cut from the same cloth. Paddy Chayevsky (sp?) script. Excellent performances. Wry satire and some hilarious belly laughs, I recommend it. |
