One word: ABSOLUTELY!

The Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942 would begin a quick succession of events that turned the momentum of the war in the Pacific in favor of the Allies in general, and the United States in particular. The following month would see the Battle of the Coral Sea, where the Allies won a strategic victory, and in June the Battle of Midway would see a total Allied victory and the beginning of the end of the Japanese war machine.

POLL DESCRIPTION
The Doolittle Raid was a major morale booster for the U.S. in WWII, but at a cost in men and aircraft, substantial risk to U.S. carriers, and served to warn Japan of its vulnerability to carrier strikes. In hindsight, was the Doolittle Raid worth it?
