Good wisdom here

I have more than enough periods/armies going now – don't need any others

Plus I don't mind not being totally accurate – for example if push came to shove and I wanted to game GNW I would sub in my SYW Russians and Reicharmie

I don't know about you, but I have a lot of settings, themes, historical periods, etc., that I think would be great to game, but I just don't do them.

For example, I've always wanted to do Ancients, but I stall out when I look at three thousand years of history from which to choose (give or take a millennium). "Alexander vs. Persians? Carthaginians vs. Republican Romans? Early Imperial Romans vs. Everyone?"

Why haven't you started collecting/painting that period you've been thinking about for years?

Poll set up by Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian, based on this pre-poll discussion.

cost
Just too much money to start over
time
Not enough time to start a new project
depth of setting
Just too broad to narrow down
lack of minis
Not enough six-legged amphibian warriors
lack of interest
I'm not interested in anything new
lack of opponents
I've done more than enough of the "paint both sides" thing to be tired of it.
lack of rules
Not found a set of rules that worked for the period
too lazy
Is being lazy the same thing as lacking time?
no room
There's a serious storage problem
lack of good minis
No miniatures I like in the scale I want to do the period in.
too old
I'm old and won't have time to start new periods
fear of painting
I think I would suck at painting for this period
fear of gaming
I start off thinking of a period that would be good to game. I then read a couple of books and think: How can I possible represent the essentials of that period and still make it a playable, enjoyable game?
hobby ADD
I'll get enthusiastic, buy a handful of miniatures, and then totally peter out when the first issue begins to raise its ugly head.
club's not interested
I am in a good healthy club so I let what they guys are into there dictate me somewhat.
other
Please explain
not interested
I don't need any new periods
