Gribeauval is appropriately rated for his time his work was done in the late C18 and the equipment lasted through into the Napoleonic period. By the standards of C18 artillery equipment he made great advances. The Congreve carriage used by the British in the Napoleonic Wars was superior but it was designed later. |
