To me the key is the diorama is a frozen moment in time – war gaming is trying to capture a lot more of the moments in time that cover a campaign or battle.

I do agree that terrain, stands, painting and setting the scene in general there are a lot of similarities.

Speaking of "completely different," someone remarked to me today that making dioramas (which is what he does) is "completely different" from miniature wargaming. Do you agree?
