I like some of them but found them too similar to another to
vote for all the permutations.

Some I would have preferred in a different colorway.

My old eyes prefer something simple, distinct, colorful with
recognition of the good things Templars stood for and a strong
connection to TMP.

I don't think I'd toss the runners-up.

(There are no 'losers' here at TMP!)

Instead,we might reserve them for other designations where
they (with or without revision) might resonate a little
more with what they are chosen to represent.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Which of these logos are suitable for the new "honorary lifetime" Knight TMPlar members?

You may vote for up to five.

Logo #1
Logo

I need the lead to feed my 17 starving children.

Logo #2
Logo

I believe my logo exhibits the qualities inherent in achieving the status of a Knights TMPlar.

The Helm is a symbol of the Knight that best represents the achievement of a distinguished member status. The crosses in the background is not so much a representation of religion, but that of faith and steadfastness - in this case, to our hobby. The combination also links back historically to the Knights Templar, a linkage that must be maintained in the logo. Various color schemes are more a matter of preference.

Should you select my logo, I would be honored. Should you chose another's, my hat's off to them. Either way, I do not envy your task. Good luck!

Knight TMPlars should wear the appropriate trappings (cap is similar to those worn by Knight Templars), and the text of this design makes it very clear what the logo is for.

Logo #4
Logo

This logo represents the simple approach. A traditional shield bearing the Knights Templar Cross, to link the symbolism and play on words of "TMPlar." The laurel represents an achievement or honor being bestowed, as in the ancient Olympics in Greece. The variants of this are to present the logo in different highlights and shading. Again, I wish good luck to all and do not envy your task.

Nothing says "elite member" than the gift of a ring... and not just any ring, but the One Ring to Rule Them All. Yes, your inner geek will jump for joy upon seeing a certain Dark Lord's cherished possession next to your name. Go on, be choosy -- doesn't your inner geek deserve it, after all that time in the dark without a date?

Logo #6
Logo

This is the same logo as for supporting and sponsoring members, but with a red/white colour scheme reminiscent of the Templars. This one has the Jerusalem cross replacing the stars.

Logo #7
Logo
  1. It's based on the official cross of the Templar Knights.
  2. It contains the "TMP" initials in hand-drawn serif-style letters with shadows.
  3. The star in the lower-right corner continues the TMP-logo motif of stars for Supporting and Sponsoring members, using the color of the lettering in the official seal of the Knights Templar.
  4. The white background instantly sets it apart from the other TMP logos, thus emphasizing the uniqueness of the owner's status.

Logo #8
Logo

With the size constraints of the logo, I kept mine simple. Just an icon which resembles a shield, and the identifier TMP on it.

Logo #9
Logo

Because it looks good, and fits the name.

Most of all, I like to win!!!!

Logo #10
Logo

The gold standard in member icons, this one stays in harmony with the other member icons, acknowledging the common roots of the most uncommon it represents. Created using a photo of a real gold ring, lovingly frosted with the same letters and stars as on the Sponsor icon, this heartwarming graphic is sure to become a timeless classic your family will enjoy for years to come.

I like the consistency of having similar logos for the various levels of support offered to TMP, with only the colours changing (except, of course for out illustrious leader, the man with the fez). I wanted red (to invoke the Knights Templar) but didn't know if it should be the traditional red or more purplish, so I submitted both... Here's the traditional one.
