POLL: Building Armies By the Rules?

I play fantasy battles (Orcs, Goblins, Gnomes, Dwarves, etc.), so the only guidance the rules offer is in the make-up of an army, as in what percentage could/should be missile troops, and/or cavalry. Generally, this is given as a percentage. I try to follow it, but it depends on what type of game I want to put on… I will skew the percentages, if it makes for a more entertaining game.

As alluded to previously, the rules I use, do not have army lists, per se. I can find some recommendations, in a few related source books, but nothing definitive. Cheers!
