I have always painted with the opinion that within my 28mm armies every soldier is somehow unique, even if its detailing slottabases with names and ranks to monitor them through a campaign.

Recently, I was painting up some pirates for an upcoming skirmish game, and I found that I was really enjoying the painting of the figs.

It made me think about last week when I was painting Imperial Guard, and loathing it.

This led me to think about why sometimes I hate to paint minis....

I seem to gravitate towards skirmish games because of my painting style. I hate painting whole armies, especially ones where you have to paint the exact same figure over and over and over and over... till you have a full unit, then you have to start all over again for the next unit.

I like some variety in my painting and minis...

Either way

Do you prefer:
  1. Skirmish games (less than 20 troops to a side)
  2. Whole-army games (more than 20 troops to a side)
I am not asking which you play more of, just which style of game do you prefer. beer
