POLL: Highest Justified Price for Rules?

Well, this whole affair has a faint smell of attempted market research about it.

As I said with the previous poll, it depends very very much on the production values.

Since production values were not mentioned, are we to assume there are none? I.e. "how much would you pay for a really good set of rules (honest, guv!) even if it came handwritten on used toilet paper (or its close equivalent, the PDF)?"

I don't mean PDF is a bad format, it's just that I know its production cost is pretty much zero (you have to do the typesetting and layout anyway), and that knowledge WILL affect how much I'm willing to pay for the product.

If ruleset A comes as PDF and ruleset B as a beautiful book with plenty of photographs, I know publisher B sank money into getting the book printed and that means I'm willing to pay more for B.

I've bought various PDF documents, I've nothing against the format per se. It's just that going PDF does not mean you can just pocket the money you'd normally pay to your printer - if the publisher saves money in the production, I expect a price cut to compensate.

Likewise, if I know the box has $50 worth of minis in it, that will affect how much I'm willing to pay for it.
