It depends. Did I play a game in a "new, shiny" set of rules that gave me a good experience, or did I play a game in a period that I was interested in that uses new rules? To me the "age" of the rules or editions thereof is secondary to what I am looking for in a game. Do the rules show me what I'm looking to model in a game?

To me, it doesn't matter how ,new cool, shiny, or popular the rules are, if they do not show what I want I'll look elsewhere or customize to make the rules reflect what I want.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Personal logo D6 Junkie Supporting Member of TMP wonders:

Think of all the projects you started in 2014-15. How many of them got shiny new rules, published 2010-15, and how many of them got old rules that came out of your collection or a friends. Wondering if new rules are inspiring the majority of new projects.

Poll set up by Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian, based on this pre-poll discussion.
