As I don't know any of the reasons why the Host is deemed as bad all I can do is record my reservations for Baltimore and the reasons why I like the Host.
1. Coming from Upstate NY, Lancaster is about a 1/2 I think closer than Baltimore. Less driving and more playing is good.
2. I sort of like the smaller feel of Lancaster and the host. It feels more like a retreat from real life than going to the "Big City" would be. I like the quaint setting and not being in the hustle and bustle of the world for a weekend.
3. I personally have never had a problem getting a table to host a game or finding one to play at after-hours.
4. The food at Lapps or the Steak joint has always been close and reasonable.
5. Parking is free vs paid (according to the above notes)
6. My only complaint is that the flee market is crowed but that adds to the excitement of finding that special buy IMHO.

As I said, I have no knowledge of the Baltimore site so I can't really contrast it to be fair but I don't much like the idea of having to cart a "game" between buildings or the fact that a facility would be shared at the same time with another con. This has a feel of "commercializing" the event to me for reasons other than adding value to the people who currently attend.

Can anyone post the main reasons cited for leaving the Host?
