I like Starmada so I guess I like lots of dice, but it depends on how large your ship is too. What I don't like is rolling only one die that could determine the game. (Like DBA.) I do like DBA just don't like rolling that one die for pips and combat. A few lucky rolls can determine the game. Luckily the games don't last that long. .Doug |

Writing in White Dwarf magazine about the upcoming War of the Ring ruleset, Mat Ward opines: If there's one thing every wargamer knows, it's that rolling dice is fun, and that rolling more dice is more fun. There is, of course, an upper limit to this, but I've found it doesn't kick in until there are more dice to be rolled than can be conveniently cupped in both hands (at which point you can always go and find some smaller dice)... In truth, I suspect it's as simple as this: the number of dice you're rolling emphasizes the scale of the battle you're fighting... Do you agree? |
