POLL DESCRIPTION

Some gamers have pretty strong likes and dislikes when it comes to the right dice for gaming. Do you prefer a large range of random outcomes? Are some dice impractical because they take too long to stop rolling?

So - when playing a game, which type of dice is best for resolving hits in combat?

d4

4-sided die.

d6

6-sided die.

d8

8-sided die.

d10

10-sided die.

d12

12-sided die.

d20

20-sided die.

d30

30-sided die.

d100

100-sided die. (I mean an actual hundred-sided die.)

percentile dice

Meaning to roll one die for the 10's place, and one die for the 1's place.

custom

Dice specially designed for the game system, perhaps including special symbols.

two d6

Two 6-sided dice.

three d6

Three 6-sided dice.

diceless

I prefer diceless combat systems.

electronic

I prefer to use an electronic substitute for dice.

no preference

I don't think it matters. Just play the game.

it depends

It depends on the type of game.

mixed

The best answer is to use different dice for different purposes (within the same game system).
