I have tried just about every approach to painting that you can think of, but in the end, I am a hopeless 'cap painter'.

I really prefer paints that have a screw-off cap, and I like to load my brush from paint that sticks to the cap after I shake up the bottle prior to use. I almost never load my brush from paint in the bottle.

This doesn't work for everything, so when necessary, I will use a dry palette (often a thick piece of cardstock) - put the paint on the dry palette and mix/thin or whatever; then load brush from the dry palette.
