I've been a wargamer since 1973. I've moved around this country so much I hardly have any real roots to anywhere. The wargame group I game with now has seen it's ups and downs. I have met new friends and lost dear old friends. I must say that my best friends have/are wargamers. Yes I am flustered by their politics, and some are straight and some are gay. But I cherish them all. Nothing binds wargamers together more than fighting a hard pressed rearguard action! Or running cuirassiers in one last "Hail Mary" charge – and winning! |

Ken Cliffe once said: Choosing fellow gamers becomes like choosing friends as we grow older. You find that you have fewer of both over time, but the ones you have are quality people with outlooks like your own. Do you agree? |
