I said skin of my teeth because that means a close exciting game. Not that the odd blow-out isn't pleasing, if I'm on the winning side. I will finish blow-outs when I'm on the wrong end.

Also, I'd rather lose in a plausible fashion than win using a-historical and cheesy stunts.

Poll set up by Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian, based on this pre-poll discussion.

Into the valley of death rode the 600
With a death-or-glory charge.
Get there the fastest with the mostest
By out-thinking and outplaying your opponent from the get-go.
Revenge is a dish best served cold
By biding your time, studying your superior/more experienced opponent's weaknesses, and then using them against him (or her).
Flush them out of their holes
With a determined, attritional approach that wears your enemy down and eventually forces him (or her) to capitulate exhausted, and on the verge of tears.
Hit me with your best shot
By goading your opponent into an unwise attack, which you then ruthlessly exploit.
By the skin of my teeth
At the last minute, after a tense, see-saw affair.
Sport's not pressure, son
A Messerchmitt up your arse, now that's pressure – as a result of having played wholeheartedly, but in a carefree spirit, letting the chips fall as they may.
They couldn't hit an elephant at this…
By a welcome stroke of luck.
Eh?
Who cares? A win's a win.
This old heart of mine's been broke a thousand times
I never win. End of story.
other (explain)
None of these.
