Cut my wargaming teeth on Arab/Israeli wars and Squad Leader. Built Models from 4th grade on. Played D&D before the box set came out because a friend came home from summer camp raving about "this new game we learned" in 1978. Owned and lost a set of the original Chainmail rules. Played AH's Gettysburg to a finish once. It took me and three friends a whole week of gaming to do it. We put the game away and moved back to Squad Leader. Now I play Warmachine and D&D most often. I just love how the games have evolved over the last 35 years! Andy Welkley BTW as a High School teacher, I am not surprised to find the age distribution for the denizens of this forum is as it is! :-D My students are far more likely to go to a more "edgy" site than this one We have too many rules of decorum here! Can't you smell the old leather and cigar smoke of "Old Club" room when you open this web site on your browser? [Grinz] |

It's been a few more years since we last asked this question (2005), and since the "age of gamers" discussion has stirred up some interest, let's revisit this question: Not trying to be nosy here! However, a lot of the "pundits" in the hobby claim that miniatures wargaming is a dying hobby, that most gamers are old and grey and there's not enough young blood. Which leads me to ask: how old are you? (Original poll suggested by |
