I think that it is nice to know who the sculptor is, so I voted yes. They deserve the recognition. |

CPBelt wonders:
Do you like when manufacturers identify who sculpted their miniatures? This has become more common with science-fiction and fantasy manufacturers, but not as much with historicals.
I vote YES.
Sculpting is an art form and should be treated as such. I wonder if certain companies fear revealing the names because the sculptors could create a following, become more in demand, and start charging higher prices for their greens?
I think knowing a sculptor generates excitement for new lines. When I hear Splintered Light has new Bob Olley figures coming, for example, I am more likely to budget for them instead of announced figures from an unknown "Brand X" sculptor. I know Bob will be quality.
So praise to companies like Splintered Light and Reaper for giving their artists their due. I would bet my cat that it also increases their sales. |
