I mentioned Lazenby was American since Cubby Broccoli, THE James Bond producer, referred to Lazenby as an American in multiple quotes on differing occasions.
Now, having raised this issue on a certain on-line Bond club/organization/"Bond fantics hotbed" my wife's a member of, what a furr-ball!
Postings flew hot and heavy!
People were supplying Cubby quotes that said Lazenby was an American while others were providing links to Yahoo Movies and IMDB among other sites which pointed out Lazenby is Australian born in Queensland.
I think in the end everyone went with the sites and just pointed out that Cubby must have made one of his few errors when referring to Lazenby as American.

As to the ethnic factor and being Bond donrice, you have to be a serious, and I mean a serious, Bond fan to understand.
My wife and her fellow Bond enthusiasts can go on for hours about almost anything in the World of Bond.
The actors' ethnicity I have seen and heard is a huge deal as to their ability to carry off Bond.
Dalton being Welsh and his poor run at being Bond has been a major factor in countless discussions my wife has shown me or made me aware of with her fellow Bond enthusiasts around the world.
Plus, Connery being Scots and Moore being English have come up in discussions as to they are referred to as the Man's Bond and the Woman's Bond respectively.
That has even been the subject of forums at a few of the Bond gatherings my wife has either attended solo or dragged me to.
Evidently, how good an actor is Bond does have to do with more than just the actor's acting skills, at least according to the die-hard Bond enthusiasts, or should I say fantics.
Then again donrice, I have even heard persons in the film industry back home raise that issue before.

Do not get me wrong folks, Bond is pretty cool, but I would much rather spend my time at a gaming con or a warbird air show than at a Bond gathering.
My wife has either attended solo or dragged me to Bond gatherings on three continents in six countries.
I am sorry, but if you are not a die-hard Bond fan, these gatherings get BORING!!!
I was even chastized once at a gathering in England about how horrible I was because I was reading a non-Bond book at it.
There are no "go naked but in the painted-on colours of the team" level fans at those meetings; no sir, uh-uh!

Operator5, since when are you the expert on what I had to say and Bond?
Are you a member of an internationally known on-line Bond club?
I do not see your handle where my wife is a member Operator5.
Golly gee Operator5, did I simply repeat many things that experts at said on-line club have said?
Yes, old man!
Did I even repeat what experts at some of the Bond gatherings I have been dragged to have said?
Yes again, old man!
So Operator5, where does that leave your palm?
Not even covered with spit!

Lastly Mr. Graham, as to age issue sir, you are actually the exception.
The demographics my wife brought home from a Bond gathering she attended just this last month say that CR2006 is truly a show the 29 and under crowd enjoy the most.
People in your age bracket sir still prefer Mr. Connery as Bond and have not really embraced a Bond film since "GoldenEye" in 1995.
