As is well known (or possibly not…), when there is a poll on a new board, the majority does not rule. Dear Editor™ has wisely decided that a new board merely needs a total of 50 voters who would "support" it.

I interpret "support" to mean that I would start topics on that board and also join in on the discussion.

There are a bunch of old fuddy duddies grin who loathe and abhor the mere idea of any new boards, and vote them all down. I used to be one of them. In fact, back when Dear Editor™ was first proposing them, I voted them all down. Badk then, the "support" threshold was much lower too.

Being a mischievous scamp, I proposed all sorts of new boards, like one for 1776 rules. I felt honorbound to vote to "support" them, since I proposed them, but they lost. Interestingly, some of my proposals did get "support". Like American Revolution and "The Sword and the Flame". Both have been well supported here. So, I was wrong! grin

Now that I am not unilaterally opposed to all new boards, I am a bit more critical and honest in my voting. I actually vote as if my opinion matters. So, if the Carlist Wars would come up again for a vote, I would vote "no". Simply because I had never heard of them before, and would have nothing to contribute. Not because I have anything against the topic.
