I play with 20 mm (say 1/72). I miss Assyrians, Kasite Babylonians and Elamites all from about circa 1300 BC to play with existing ranges of their west neighbors (Egyptians, Hittites…).

And, of course, a wide range of Starwars in the same scale.

POLL DESCRIPTION

unknown member wonders:

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a wargamer in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a specific figure that he will bitch and moan is not available.

Truth.

I have several times posted that we are in the Golden Age of figure availability. As opposed to 20 years ago, we are lacking precious few specific figures.

The purpose of this is not to rant that there are "only" 2 manufacturers make what I need.

However, if someone could point out a manufacturer who does make these figures, well that is good!

I had not given this much thought lately until there was a request yesterday for figures for the Scottish Loyalists at Moore's Creek Bridge in North Carolina in 1776.

The OP suggested that several sources claimed that the Jocks were aremed only with broadswords. I know I have a scenario book that suggests this, but I have always been uneasy about that. If so, they would be the only backwoodsmen without firearms.

Be that as it may…

One can easily make the "authentic" hillbillies with King's Mountain backwoodsmen, purchasing the bonnet heads. However, there are no hillbillies with broadswords. So, here is my first installment in the "We will not be in the Golden Age until they make this figure" whine rant:

1) 1776 AWI backwoodsmen armed with broadsword

Any scale, any period, any genre, any medium. If I tried to limit this, nobody would pay any attention.

If you want Philippine Constabulary in Winter Dress in plastic, be my guest. Someone my actually want them, so who am I to tell him he is full of it? I can't tell you what you want!
