Picking up on a question first asked by reader Ogre13 - are you vegetarian?

(The following vegetarian definitions have been collected from various vegetarian websites.)

Semi-Vegetarian

A Semi-Vegetarian eats no red or white meat (beef, pork, venison, etc). They do eat fowl and fish, as well as by-products of red meat (i.e., fats, oils, gelatin etc.). They also wear clothes from animals.

Ovo-Vegetarian

Ovo Vegetarians do not eat meat or flesh of any kind. They eat eggs, but not dairy products. They may eat meat by-products (e.g. fats, bonemeal, gelatin) or use animal-derived products.

Lacto-Vegetarian

Lacto Vegetarians do not eat meat or flesh of any kind. They eat dairy products, but not eggs. They may eat meat by-products (e.g. fats, bonemeal, gelatin) or use animal-derived products.

Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian

Ovo-Lacto Vegetarians do not eat meat or flesh of any kind. They do not eat dairy products or eggs. They may eat meat by-products (e.g. fats, bonemeal, gelatin) or use animal-derived products.

Vegan

Being Vegan is a lifestyle as well as a diet. Vegans eat only plant foods - no animal products, no eggs, no dairy, no honey. They do not wear or use any animal products (e.g. leather, silk, wool, lanolin, gelatin).

Macrobiotic Vegetarian

There are 10 levels in the Macrobiotic program. A Macrobiotic Vegetarian excludes all meat, poultry, dairy produce and eggs from his diet. At initial levels, fish may be eaten.

Pescetarian Vegetarian

A pescetarian diet excludes meat and fowl, but includes fish. Factory-farmed fish are commonly avoided.

Fruitarian Vegan

A fruitarian diet is a type of Vegan diet which excludes processed or cooked foods. It consists mainly of raw fruit (75%), fruit-like vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, cucumbers), grains and nuts. Fruitarians eat only plant foods that can be harvested without killing the plant.

Sproutarian Vegetarian

Sproutarians eat mostly sprouted seeds, grains, pulses and rice.
