I was going to mention my own rules but kodiakblair got in first! I was not going to mention them as I was going to put up a new version this weekend (after a year of no update – they are after all a work in progress). I has streamlined slightly how the game works and reduced the size of the actual rules by about 10%. I have also removed some modifiers from some of the tables. The game I believe is better for it, is almost the same (say 95%), but I think I have managed to simplify it a little and it is also a little faster. I have one or two more playtests to do and I will put up the new version.

I am currently expanding my Punic Wars 1/72 plastic HaT collection. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the local ancients player base.

So, I am wondering what your favorite ancients rules set to play solo, whether it was designed to play that way or not.

For me, I have been using the free game Chain Reaction Swordplay for the smaller skirmishes that my daughter and I have been playing for same side vs "the system" gaming.
