My local choices are abysmal.

The local "game store" is a hole-in-the-wall comic store. It sells a fair number of RPGs (mostly D20, unfortunately). They sell collectible miniatures games and CCGs. I can order anything from them, but I usually just buy online. He gives a good discount, though, so I have picked up RPGs there on occasion.

There's a local hobby store, too. Technically they sell more stuff. Their miniatures are all GW, and their RPGs are either old Spycraft 1.0 stuff or D20. They sell some German designer board games, but they haven't changed the selection since they opened and I already had most of their games.

The local Books-A-Million sells RPGs and some Star Wars miniatures that my son's interested in.

For real game stores I have to travel to Texarkana (which has a comic/games store that's 50:50 games, and some fantasy miniatures), or to Baton Rouge (which has one of the best game stores I've visited, though very little historical miniatures).

It appears that historical miniatures will simply never see the light of day again in most stores. It's going to be internet sales, for the most part.

If I ever win the lottery, I'll open up a great miniatures store! Other than that, I'll buy off then net by necessity.
