I make my own, but unless it's for a display miniature I don't do too much.

For gaming figures I prefer unobtrusive bases that fit whatever they're playing on.

I recently saw some really great looking scenic bases for my pulp and pirate figs (tinsbits.com). I really love the look of them.

Now my problem is I want to do all my figs like this! They just look too good.

Do you use scenic bases? Either pre-cast ones (with actual designs on them – Dwarf temples, dungeon floors with bones, etc…), homemade bases with designs on them (wood panels, cobblestones, dungeon floors, etc…), bases with just sand/flock/static grass, or just painted black?

Do you worry about the base not fitting into different terrain boards? i.e. dungeon floor-based figs on a grass outdoor board?
