Dandigger, you might if you had older Airfix. But I agree, it's much worse in metal.

Dave, I think span of time is part of the problem. In the early 1970's Stadden and Suren were maybe half a head or so taller than Scruby figures--10% more or less. But if you bought 25mm Star Wars figures when Star Wars came out, they've jumped 10% about four times. The 25's were replaced by 28mm, then 32mm and I think the present lot is about 36mm--completely incompatible, and it isn't even legal to make figures to scale with the originals. Someone's looking at a John Carter of Mars kickstarter, and those figures will look about as bad next to my old Heritage 25mm John Carter figures.

But even in the 1970's--well, "painted and based with good scenery" still couldn't make Erikson and Scruby horses look as though they belonged to the same species as Stadden, Suren and Connoisseur. I finally got everyone to match by replacing all the smaller cavalry, but it took years and probably the price of a smallish army. I'm not doing it again.

Figures are growing and it sux. I won't buy if they won't fit with what I have unless it is a new genre.
